Buyers often come to us assuming a strappy heel is the easy end of the range. Less material, fewer stones, lower cost. The material bill does drop. The tolerance does not.
来问的买家常以为细带高跟是这条线里最好做的：料少、钻少、成本低。料钱确实降了，公差没降。
On a closed vamp, a rhinestone shoe upper carries its own margin for error. A row that drifts half a millimetre disappears into the surrounding stones. Strip that vamp down to four straps and the same half millimetre reads as a crooked line, because the buyer's eye now has a straight edge sitting right next to it for comparison. The strap edge is a ruler. It measures your work in public.
在闭合鞋面上，水钻鞋面自带容错。一行钻歪了半毫米，会被周围的钻吃掉。把鞋面剥到只剩四根带子，同样的半毫米就成了一条明显的斜线，因为买家眼里旁边就摆着一条笔直的边可以对照。带子的边就是把尺，它当着所有人的面量你的活。
Two other things change. Strap uppers flex along their length instead of across a broad panel, so adhesive and stone anchoring take a bending load rather than a shear one. And the wearer's skin touches the underside constantly. Anything that telegraphs through to the foot, a hard glue ridge, a stone base with a sharp shoulder, becomes a complaint about comfort, not about sparkle.
还有两处变化。带式鞋面是顺着长度弯的，不是整片一起弯，所以背胶和钻的固定受的是折的力，不是剪的力。另外脚一直贴着带子的背面。任何传到脚上的东西，比如一条硬胶棱、一颗底边刮手的钻，最后投诉的都是不舒服，不是不闪。
Peep-toe: the edge is the whole job
鱼嘴：边就是全部的活
On a peep-toe, the mouth of the opening is the design. Everything else supports it. That opening is a curve, usually a shallow arc across the toe box, and it has to be finished cleanly because the buyer will hold the shoe up and look straight into it.
鱼嘴鞋上，开口那道口就是设计本身，别的都是配它的。那道口是一段弧，一般是横过鞋头的浅弧，必须收得干净，因为买家一定会把鞋举起来正对着那道口看。
Three ways we finish it, each with a different cost and look:
Bound edge. A PVC strip or leather binding wraps the opening and the rhinestone rows stop cleanly against it. Cleanest result, most forgiving in production, adds a visible metallic or matte line. Rose gold, gold and silver PVC all work here.
Stone-to-edge. Stones run to within a millimetre of the cut and the edge is sealed underneath. No frame, purest crystal look, and the least tolerance for error. This is the one that needs an approved sample before bulk.
Stepped-down density. Full coverage in the body of the toe box, then a narrower row or two at the mouth. Softens the transition without adding a binding line. Useful when the last has a tight curve.

递减密度。鞋头主体满钻，到口沿收窄一两行。不加包边线也能把过渡做软。楦头弧度紧的时候好用。
Tell us which one at inquiry stage. The three are not interchangeable late in the process, because bound and stone-to-edge need different cutting allowances from the start.
询盘阶段就把选哪种告诉我们。这三种到后期换不了，包边和钻到边从一开始留的裁切余量就不一样。
Stone size against strap width
钻的大小对着带宽算
The single most common mismatch we correct: a stone chosen for its sparkle, on a strap too narrow to carry it.
我们最常纠正的一处不匹配：钻是照着闪度挑的，带子却窄到扛不住它。
A stone that is more than about a third of the strap width will dominate. It looks chunky, it fights the strap's line, and it lifts the edge on the flex. Below that ratio the rhinestone reads as a surface rather than as separate lumps, which is what a strappy evening shoe wants. Small stones set densely give the liquid look; large stones on a narrow band give a rivet look. Both sell. They sell to different customers.
一颗钻要是超过带宽的三分之一左右，它就会压场。看着笨、跟带子的线条打架、一弯还把边翘起来。低于这个比例，水钻读起来是一整片面，不是一颗颗的疙瘩，晚装细带鞋要的就是这个。小钻密排出的是水光感；窄带上放大钻出的是铆钉感。两种都卖得掉，只是卖给不同的客人。
For a working starting point on a strappy heel: an 8mm strap wants small stones in two or three rows. A 15mm strap will take a larger stone or a mixed layout with a centre row and finer edge rows. We keep an extensive density library and will lay the actual options against your strap width during sampling rather than guessing from a photo.
细带高跟上可以这么起手：8 毫米的带子，用小钻排两三行。15 毫米的带子，可以上大一号的钻，或者做中间一行大、两边收细的混排。我们有完整的密度库，打样时会拿实际的排法对着你的带宽比，不靠看照片猜。
Where crystal grade matters: peep-toe and strappy styles are photographed. Red carpet, editorial, e-commerce hero shots. Glass crystal holds its refraction under a hard light where resin flattens out. If the shoe is going to be shot, spend the difference on the glass.
玻璃钻等级在哪儿最要紧：鱼嘴和细带款是要拍照的。红毯、时装大片、电商主图。硬光下玻璃钻的折射还立得住，树脂钻会拍平掉。这鞋要拍，就把这笔差价花在玻璃上。
What to send us for a sample

A photo of a shoe you like is a starting point, not a brief. What actually shortens the sampling loop:
- The last, or the pattern pieces flat, with strap widths marked
- Heel height and whether the strap is load-bearing or decorative
- Your edge finish choice: bound, stone-to-edge, or stepped-down
- Base material and colour, with a Pantone reference if the strap shows between stones
- Stone family: glass, resin, ceramic or acrylic, plus your target price band
- Where the shoe is sold and at what retail, which tells us how hard the durability spec needs to be

That last line surprises people. It is the most useful one. A rhinestone shoe upper for a wear-once prom sandal and one for a 300-dollar retail heel are different builds, and knowing which you are making stops us over-engineering your cost or under-building your complaint rate.
最后一条常让人意外，它其实最有用。一双穿一次的舞会凉鞋，和一双零售 300 美元的高跟鞋，水钻鞋面的做法是两回事。知道你做的是哪一种，我们才不会把你的成本做过头，或者把你的售后投诉率做低不了。

Evening and bridal peep-toes cluster around two windows a year, and the strappy styles are always the ones that come in late, because they are the styles that get changed last in a collection. Build that in. A first sample on a new strap layout takes longer than a repeat on a closed vamp, since we are matching stone rows to a curve you have just supplied. Come to us at the pattern stage rather than after the last is locked, and we can flag a strap width that will not carry the stone you have chosen before it costs you a round.
