A shorthand · not a visual detail.
SS 是工艺语言 · 不是视觉细节
SS is the shorthand buyers meet early and misread often. It’s useful because designers, sales teams and factories can talk about stone scale without writing millimetres into every sentence. It becomes risky only when an order treats the number as a visual detail instead of a structural decision.
SS 是买家很早就会遇到、也很容易只看个大概的规格语言。它的好处是设计、销售与工厂可以快速谈钻号 · 不必每句话都写毫米。它真正容易出问题，是把钻号当作"看着差不多"的小细节，而不是结构决策。

Use the chart as a starting reference, then judge it in the product structure. The same SS size doesn’t read identically in a flat mesh sheet, a narrow flexible trim, and a fabric-backed shoe trim.
这张表先解决"号数大概多大"。下单时还要把它放回产品结构里看：同一个 SS 号数 · 放在平面网片、窄幅柔性条带、带布底的鞋类抽条上 · 视觉和手感都不会完全一样。
03 · Size Changes Density
Smaller stones aren’t simply “less sparkle.”
小钻不等于"没那么闪"
In a dense layout, smaller stones create a finer surface, smoother transitions, and tighter detail work. Larger stones announce themselves faster and can make a trim feel bolder at a glance. Neither direction is automatically better — the finished product decides.
在密排结构里 · 小钻能做出更细的表面、更顺的层次过渡和更紧凑的细节。大钻则更快被看见 · 也更容易让一条辅料一眼显得强。两者没有谁天然更高级 · 成品场景决定取舍。

04 · Size Changes Flexibility and Spacing
SS doesn’t decide alone.
钻号不会独立决定结果
Stone scale interacts with the backing and the spacing around it. A buyer shouldn’t choose SS size in isolation from row count, trim width, and end use. A narrow garment edge, a bracelet surface, and a sandal strap ask the same stone to do different work.
钻号会和背面结构、钻间距一起影响条带表现。所以买家不要把 SS 号数从排数、宽度和最终用途里单独拿出来选。服装窄边、手镯表面、凉鞋带 · 会让同一个钻号承担不同任务。
A pairing worth knowing
Mixing SS sizes inside one trim is where dense-pack capability shows.
A 4-row Diamond Rope with SS12 on the outer rows and SS6 in between — that’s the move that takes a flat-looking trim and gives it a finished, almost three-dimensional read. The combination doesn’t exist on a single-SS layout.
05 · Before Repeating an Order
Record stone size with five other things.
返单时 · 钻号要和这五项一起记
For repeatability, record the stone size together with:
- Product line（Crystal Mesh / Diamond Lace / Diamond Rope / etc.）
- Row count or target width
- Stone mix if more than one size is used
- Colour and effect
- Application method and base construction
要稳定返单 · 钻号至少要和以下信息一起记：
- 产品线（水钻网片 / 水钻条 / 水钻抽条 等）
- 排数或目标宽度
- 是否混用多种钻号
- 颜色与效果
- 应用方式与基底结构
