Diamond Lace is a strip trim: rhinestones carried on a narrow lace or mesh band that runs along an edge rather than filling a panel. That shape decides where it belongs. It follows a line, so it goes where the garment already has a line to follow. Necklines, cuffs, the front placket, a hem, the seam of a strap. The band does the sparkle and the edge does the structure, and the two read as one finished detail.
水钻花边是一种条状辅料：水钻装在一条窄窄的花边或网带上，沿着边走，而不是铺满一整片。这个形态决定了它该用在哪。它跟着一条线走，所以哪里本来就有一条线，它就用在哪。领口、袖口、前门襟、下摆、肩带的缝。钻面负责闪，边负责结构，两者看起来是同一处收好的细节。
The places that work best share one thing: the edge is stable before the trim goes on. A bound neckline, a turned-and-stitched cuff, a finished placket. Lay Diamond Lace onto a raw or stretchy edge and the band will fight the fabric every time that area moves. So the first question is not which trim, it's whether the edge underneath is already doing its job.
效果最好的那几个位置有个共同点：花边上去之前，那条边本身已经是稳的。包好的领口、翻折车好的袖口、做好的门襟。要是把水钻花边贴到毛边或弹性边上，那块只要一动，花边就跟布较劲。所以第一个要问的不是用哪款花边，而是底下这条边自己是不是已经站得住。
Sew or Glue: Match the Method to the Edge
缝还是粘：按这条边来定
Two ways to attach it, and the edge tells you which. Sewing through the band carries the load: it takes the pull of a cuff being tugged over a hand, or a neckline stretched over the head. On anything that flexes or gets handled, sew it. A straight lockstitch along both edges of the band holds the trim flat and lets the seam, not the glue, take the strain.
固定方式两种，选哪种由这条边说了算。把线穿过花边带去缝，是让线来扛力：袖口往手上撸、领口往头上套时那股拉力，靠的就是缝。凡是会弯、会被拉扯、会经常上手的地方，就缝。沿花边两条边各走一道平缝，把花边压平，让缝线而不是胶去吃这股力。
Glue, meaning the hot-fix backing fused with heat and pressure, suits flat finished edges that don't take much pull: a placket facing, a decorative hem panel, a yoke. It's faster on a straight run and leaves no visible stitch. The trade is that heat-set bonds want a flat, stable surface and dislike repeated stretch. As a rule we give buyers: if the area moves or gets pulled, sew it; if it sits flat and stays put, hot-fix is fine. A lot of garments use both, sewn where it flexes and fused where it doesn't.
粘，指的是烫钻背胶用热和压力压合，适合不怎么吃拉力的平整成品边：门襟贴边、装饰下摆片、过肩。直线段上更快，而且看不到针脚。代价是热压背胶要的是平整稳定的面，不喜欢反复拉伸。我们给买家的一条准则是：这块会动、会被拉，就缝；它平铺着、不挪窝，烫就行。很多衣服两种都用，会弯的地方缝，不弯的地方烫。
Laying It Out: Corners, Curves and Symmetry
排版：转角、弧线和对称
A straight cuff is the easy case. The work is at the corners and curves, and a neckline is all curve. Diamond Lace bends along its length but the band has a width, so a tight inside curve will pucker the inner edge unless you ease it in. On a deep neckline we tell the sample room to relax the band into the curve and pin before stitching, rather than pulling it taut and hoping. A band stretched around a curve looks tight on the bench and lifts off the body.
直袖口是最省事的。难的是转角和弧线，而领口整个就是弧线。水钻花边能顺着长度方向弯，但花边带是有宽度的，所以内弧太急时，不把它喂进去，内侧那条边就会起皱。遇到大领口，我们会让样品间把花边松着喂进弧线、别针固定好再车，而不是绷紧了赌它服帖。绷着绕弧线的花边，在台面上看着紧，上了身就翘起来。
Symmetry is where buyers get burned. Left cuff and right cuff need to mirror, and a center-front neckline needs the pattern to land evenly on both sides of the centerline. That means planning where the cut falls before you cut, so a half-motif doesn't end up at the shoulder seam on one side and mid-chest on the other. Mark the centerline, work outward from it, and keep the offcuts paired so both sleeves come from the same part of the run.
对称是买家最容易栽跟头的地方。左袖口和右袖口要镜像，前中领口要让花纹在中线两边落得一样。这意味着裁之前就得想好裁口落在哪，免得半个花型一边落到肩缝、另一边落到胸口中间。把中线标出来，从中线往两边排，剩料成对留好，让两只袖子取自整条里的同一段。

A clean Diamond Lace order tells us four things. The band width, because that sets how the trim reads against a narrow cuff versus a wide hem. The stone size and density, which decide how heavy the sparkle looks and how the band bends around a curve. The base color and metal tone of the setting, so it matches the garment rather than sitting next to it. And the attachment you plan, sew or hot-fix, because that changes the backing we build into the band.
一张清楚的水钻花边订单要交代四件事。花边带的宽度，它决定花边压在窄袖口上和压在宽下摆上分别是什么观感。钻的尺寸和密度，它决定闪面看着多重、花边绕弧线时弯得顺不顺。底色和爪/底座的金属调，让它跟衣服是配的，而不是各贴各的。还有你打算怎么固定，缝还是烫，因为这会改我们在花边里做的背衬。
Then the practical part: run length per piece and total meters, so we cut and bag to your pieces instead of shipping bulk roll for you to re-cut. Send a photo or sketch of the edge it sits on and we'll sample against that edge, not against a flat card. The trim is only ever as good as the edge it finishes, and we'd rather see that edge before the first sample than after.
