A rhinestone Diamond Flower sewn onto a bodice is supported everywhere. The fabric carries its weight, the stitches share the load, and the flower never has to hold its own shape against gravity. A brooch has none of that help. It hangs off one small mount, pulling on a single point of cloth all evening.
一枚缝在胸前的水钻花片，四面都有支撑。布替它扛重量，线分掉受力，花本身不用对抗地心引力去维持形状。胸针一样都没有。它吊在一个小小的扣具上，整晚都在扯着一个点的布。
So the design work runs backwards from the mount. Before we shape a petal we ask how heavy the finished piece can be, because a corsage that photographs beautifully but drags a jacket lapel down is a return, not a sale. A statement flower has to look substantial and weigh less than it looks. We get there by hollowing the base, running glass crystal only where the camera lands, and filling the lower tiers with lighter resin rhinestone that still reads bright but carries a fraction of the mass.
所以设计是从扣具倒着往回做的。花瓣还没成型，我们先问成品能有多重，因为一朵拍照好看、却把西装翻领坠垮的胸花，是退货，不是成交。点睛的花得看着有分量、实际比看着轻。做法是把底掏空，玻璃钻只用在镜头正落的地方，下面几层用更轻的树脂水钻填，一样够亮，重量却只有一小部分。
The mount: pin-back or sew-on clasp
扣具：别针底还是缝式扣
This is the decision buyers most often leave vague, and it sets everything downstream. There are two honest options and they serve different customers.
这是买家最常含糊带过的一个决定，而它管着后面所有事。老实说就两个选择，服务的是不同客户。
A pin-back, a bar pin or a safety-clasp brooch pin, glues and sews to a felt or mesh backing plate. The wearer pins it on and takes it off in seconds, moves it from a coat to a bag to a hat. That is the true brooch, and it wants a firm backing plate so the pin never twists the flower out of line.
别针底，也就是一字针或带保险扣的胸针针，粘加缝固定在一块不织布或网片底托上。戴的人几秒钟别上、取下，从大衣挪到包再挪到帽子。这才是真正的胸针，它需要一块硬挺的底托，别针才不会把花拧歪。
A sew-on clasp, or just a mesh margin left bare, is for a corsage that gets tacked to a specific spot, a gown shoulder, a sash, a bridesmaid's wrist band. It is semi-permanent. The customer stitches it once and it stays for that garment. Tell us which life the piece leads and we back it accordingly. A brooch pin sewn onto a delicate chiffon corsage tears the chiffon; a bare mesh margin on a piece meant to be pinned leaves the customer with nothing to grip.
缝式扣，或者干脆留一圈光网片边，是给那种要固定到某个具体位置的胸花用的，礼服肩头、腰封、伴娘的手腕带。它是半永久的。客户缝一次，就跟着那件衣服了。告诉我们这件是哪种用法，我们照着做背面。把胸针别针缝在一朵娇气的雪纺胸花上，会把雪纺拉破；而一件本该用别针的，留一圈光网边，客户就没处下手了。

让一朵花撑起整个造型
On a garment, a Diamond Flower is one note in a chorus. As a brooch it sings solo, so it has to earn the attention. Two things do that work: dimension and stone quality.
在成衣上，一枚水钻花片是合唱里的一个音。做成胸针它就是独唱，得配得上那份注意力。撑起这活的是两样：层次，和钻的品质。
Dimension comes from stacked, offset petals rather than one flat disc. Three tiers give the eye shadow lines to read, and shadow is what separates a real statement piece from a shiny badge. Stone quality is where a brooch cannot cut corners at the top. Under a photographer's light or a chandelier, glass crystal holds its refraction and throws colour, while flat resin goes to a grey shine. Put the glass rhinestone in the centre cluster where every eye goes first, and save cost lower down where it is filler.
层次来自错开叠起来的花瓣，不是一块平盘。三层能给眼睛留下影线，而有没有影，正是点睛件和一枚亮牌牌的区别。钻的品质则是胸针在最上面不能省的地方。在摄影灯或水晶吊灯下，玻璃钻的折射还在、还甩得出颜色，而平的树脂钻会变成一片灰亮。玻璃水钻放在中心簇、也就是所有目光第一眼落的地方，成本省在下面当填充的位置。

胸花还是胸针：做法上差在哪
The two words get used loosely, so we pin them down on the spec sheet. A corsage, in our shop, is softer and often larger, sometimes with a fabric or organza element behind the stones, meant to sit on a shoulder or wrist for one event. A brooch is compact, fully stone, and built to be worn again and again on a hard mount.
这两个词用得很松，所以我们在规格单上把它钉死。在我们厂里，胸花偏软、往往更大，钻后面有时带一块布或欧根纱，是给一场活动别在肩上或手腕上的。胸针则紧凑、全是钻，装在硬扣具上，做来反复戴的。
That split changes the backing. A corsage takes a flexible mesh or felt back that curves to a shoulder. A brooch takes a rigid plate so it stays flat and the pin bites straight. It also changes the edge finish. A wrist corsage needs a soft, snag-free perimeter against skin, so we bind the mesh edge; a lapel brooch can carry a firmer trimmed edge because it never touches skin.
这个分野改的是背衬。胸花用能贴肩弯的软网片或不织布底。胸针用硬底托，才保持平整、别针扎得正。它还改边缘处理。手腕胸花贴皮肤，需要一圈柔软不刮的边，所以我们把网片边包起来；翻领胸针从不碰皮肤，可以留一道更硬的裁切边。

A photo tells us the look you want. It rarely tells us the build, and the build is where a corsage or brooch succeeds or fails. What shortens the loop:

- Pin-back or sew-on clasp, and whether it must move between garments
- Maximum finished weight the mount and cloth can carry, in grams
- Diameter and how much lift off the surface you want, in millimetres
- Where it sits: lapel, shoulder, wrist, sash, so we choose a rigid or flexible back
- Stone family and grade: glass rhinestone for the centre, where resin is acceptable
- Base colour and a Pantone reference if any mesh or backing shows
- 别针底还是缝式扣，以及要不要在不同衣服间挪
- 扣具和布能承受的成品最大重量，用克
- 直径，以及要离开表面多高，用毫米
- 戴在哪儿：翻领、肩、手腕、腰封，好让我们选硬底还是软底

Get those six lines down and the first sample usually lands close. Skip them and we build to a guess, which costs everyone a round.
