A rhinestone diamond rope is built to follow a line. That is its whole job: a continuous band of stones sitting on a flexible base, ready to run along a seam, a fold, or the lip of a panel. On soft garments that flexibility is a plus. On bags and belts, it is close to essential, because the places you want to decorate are almost always firm: the top edge of a tote, the piped seam on a strap, the two long borders of a belt.
水钻抽条生来就是沿着线走的。它干的就是这个活：一排水钻钉在柔性底带上，随时能顺着一道缝、一道折边或者一块面料的口沿铺过去。放在柔软的成衣上，这份柔韧是加分项；放到箱包和皮带上，它几乎是刚需，因为你想装饰的位置基本都是硬的——手袋的包口、肩带上的压线、腰带的两条长边。
Those firm borders give the rope something to sit against. The stone line reads cleaner when it has a defined edge to align to, and it holds its position better once glued or stitched down. A flat rhinestone patch on a curved strap tends to lift at the ends. A rope laid into the edge of that same strap stays put, because it is working with the structure instead of fighting it.
这些挺括的边给了抽条一个可以贴靠的对象。有一条清楚的边线让水钻去对齐，亮线会更利落，粘或缝下去之后也更不容易跑位。一块平的钻贴放在弧形肩带上，两头容易翘起来；同样一条肩带，把抽条嵌进边口，它就稳稳待着，因为它是顺着结构走，而不是跟结构较劲。
Half-round or full-round: pick by where it sits
半圆还是全圆：看它落在哪儿
Diamond rope comes in two profiles, and the choice matters more on hardware than on fabric. A half-round rope wraps stones over half the round and leaves the base fabric showing underneath. It carries a wider range of stone styles and sits lower, so it tucks neatly into a piped seam or against a raised edge where you only see the top of the line.
水钻抽条有两种形态，用在五金和硬边上，这个选择比用在布面上更要紧。半圆抽条把水钻包在半边圆上，底布留在下面露着；它能配的钻款更多，也压得更低，因此很好塞进压线的缝里，或者靠着一道凸起的边，让人只看到亮线的顶面。
A full-round rope wraps the stones the whole way around a round tube or cotton core. It reads as a solid rope of sparkle from any angle, which is what you want for an exposed strap edge or a free-standing belt border that gets looked at from the side. It carries fewer stone styles than the half-round, so treat it as the choice for the fully visible runs, not for every centimeter.
全圆抽条则把水钻整圈包在圆管或棉芯外面。从任何角度看它都是一条实打实的亮绳，正合适裸露的肩带边，或者那种从侧面就会被看到的独立腰带边。它能配的钻款比半圆少，所以把它留给完全露出来的那几段，别每一厘米都用它。
A simple way to decide: if the trim will be partly hidden by a fold, piping, or stitch line, a half-round earns its keep. If it stands alone and gets seen in the round, go full-round.
一个简单的判断法：如果这条边会被折边、压线或缝线挡住一部分，半圆更划算；如果它是独立一条、要从各个角度被看到，就上全圆。
The inner core sets the stiffness
内芯决定挺度
On a strap or a belt, stiffness is a design decision, not an afterthought. The core inside a full-round rope is what you tune it with. A cotton cord core keeps the rope pliable, so it eases around the curve of a shoulder strap or the bend at a belt tip without kinking. A PVC tube core holds a firmer, straighter line, which suits a belt border that should look crisp and architectural along its whole length.
在肩带或腰带上，挺度是一个设计决定，不是事后补的。全圆抽条里的那根芯，就是你调节挺度的地方。棉芯让抽条保持柔软，绕过肩带的弧线或者腰带尖端的折弯时不会打结；PVC 圆管芯撑出一条更硬、更直的线，适合那种从头到尾都要看起来利落、有骨架感的腰带边。
Match the core to how the piece moves in use. A crossbody strap flexes every time the bag is picked up, so a cotton core wears better there. A stiff belt or a structured top-handle stays fixed in shape, so a PVC core reinforces the line you already have. Tell your supplier the application, and the core can be chosen for it rather than left to chance.
按这件东西实际怎么动来配芯。斜挎肩带每次拿包都会弯，用棉芯更耐用；硬挺的腰带或者有型的手提，形状是固定的，PVC 芯正好加固你本来就要的那条线。把用途告诉供应商，芯就能照着选，而不是随便定一根。

Bag and belt materials are not shirt fabric, so plan the attachment. On finished leather and PU, a bonded diamond rope needs a clean, low-oil surface and firm pressure; the adhesive grabs better when the panel is prepped rather than glued straight off the roll. On woven webbing, many leather-goods factories prefer to stitch through the base band of a half-round rope, which gives a mechanical hold that survives the pull a strap takes.
箱包和皮带的材料不是衬衫布，贴合方式要提前想好。在成品皮革和 PU 上，粘贴式的水钻抽条需要一个干净、少油的表面加上足够的压力；面料先做处理再粘，胶咬得比直接从卷上撕下来贴要牢。在机织织带上，很多皮具厂更愿意穿过半圆抽条的底带走线缝住，这种机械固定能扛住肩带日常受的拉力。
Two habits save rework. Run a small adhesion or stitch test on your actual material before a full run, since PU coatings vary from one tannery to the next. And plan your corners: a rope turns a gentle radius happily, but a sharp 90-degree belt corner usually wants a mitred break or a molded corner piece rather than one forced bend.
两个习惯能省返工。上大货前，用你真正的材料做个小面积的粘合或缝合测试，因为不同鞣厂的 PU 涂层脾气不一样；再就是先规划转角：抽条转个平缓的弧没问题，但腰带那种直角的锐角，通常要做斜接断开或者用成型角件，而不是硬掰一个弯。

- Base and attachment method: bonded, stitched, or both, named for your material.
- Total metres and corner count, so the maker can allow for mitres and waste.
