The three bead families do not behave the same way under heat, glue or wear, and that decides where each one belongs in a design.

Here is the short version of how they differ:
- Pearls (glass-based or coated): heavier, warm sheen, coating can scuff on hard wear. Best as accents, not high-friction zones.
- ABS beads: light, low cost, plated or pearlized finish, can soften under high heat. Good for volume and inner rows.
- Glass beads: heavy, bright, scratch-resistant, hold color well. Strong next to glass rhinestones since the light return matches.

One thing worth saying plainly: weight adds up. A bangle that is half glass beads and half rhinestone can end up heavier than the customer expects. We weigh a sample run early so nobody is surprised at the carton stage.

Matching Color, Plating and Light Return

Mixing materials means mixing how they catch light, and that is where designs go wrong. A silver-plated ABS bead and a clear rhinestone in a silver claw look related. A warm cream pearl next to a cold crystal AB stone can clash if nobody checks the tone first.
混材料就是混“它们怎么吃光”，设计翻车多半翻在这。银电镀的 ABS 珠，配银爪里的透明水钻，看着是一家的。可暖奶油色珍珠挨着冷调的水晶 AB 钻，要是没人先对一下色温，就容易打架。
A few rules we hold to on mixed orders:
- Pull plating tone and bead finish to the same temperature: warm with warm, cold with cold, unless the contrast is the point.
- Approve AB and coating colors on a physical card, never on screen. AB shifts under different light.
- Keep one material as the lead and let the others support, rather than splitting attention three ways.

For high-end pieces we lean on glass rhinestones, sometimes called crystal stones, since their clarity holds up next to good pearls. For volume work ABS keeps the math friendly. The right answer is usually a blend, set by budget and where the piece will be worn.

A mixed design is much easier to quote and sample when the request arrives complete. Vague briefs cost a sampling round.

- A layout reference or sketch showing where beads sit against the rhinestone band.
- Bead type, size and rough ratio (for example, one pearl row per three rhinestone rows).
- Plating and color targets, with a card or product code if you have one.
- Base material the piece bonds to, and whether it is hot-fix, self-adhesive or sewn.
- Target weight or any limit, plus the order quantity and trial scope.
